Laura complements the project by bringing her 3+ years of massage therapist managing skills and 5+ years of massage therapy passion to the table. Laura is a Licensed Massage Therapist and the Regional Director of Operations for Casino’ssage Inc. She also co-Organizes the Las Vegas Massage Therapy Meetup® group since May of 2008, is an Advisory Board Member for the High Tech Institute’s Massage Therapy Program, and is a Professional Member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She is voted the National Association of Professional Women’s (NAPW) VIP Woman of the Year in 2009 and 2010, and is an active member of the Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) for 3 years.
Laura attended California State University – San Marcos, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Laura’s dedication to leading and educating massage therapist colleagues is evident in her participation in and promotion of all the groups in which she takes part and actively manages – she lends a sense of integrity and professionalism to every massage therapy venture of which she is a part, and is very enthusiastic about the Massage World Record project.

Tamela is an NCBTMB-Certified and Nevada state-licensed Massage Therapist. She is also the Massage Therapy Program Manager at High Tech Institute in Las Vegas, NV; a Professional member of AMTA and serves the members of the NV Chapter on the Board of Directors as Secretary; as well, she is a Certified Yoga Instructor.  She ’s owned and operated a private practice for 8 years and is a volunteer member for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a member of the Advanced Certification Task Force; she is an item writer, and an item reviewer for Cengage, FA Davis, and Elsevier.

David joins the MWR Project as an 8-year practitioner of massage therapy in both private practice (Hands In Motion) and Five-Star employment environments. Learning and integrating education and management techniques for internal Company education and earning his Bachelor’s degree in English, Secondary Education, enhances his ability to communicate to clients as a Massage Therapist, manually and verbally. His passion for helping others comprehend and understand the higher goals of touch therapy are apparent in his past achievements and current projects, including: having been an ACCET-approved Instructor with the Nevada School of Massage Therapy (2 years), Co-Organizing a local professional networking group, the Las Vegas Massage Therapy Meetup group, and being an active volunteer with the American Massage Therapy Association, Nevada Chapter.

‘Where can I get a really FREE Massage?’

We are licensed massage therapists here in the Las Vegas Valley, and we thought to ourselves ‘how many people want a free massage?’ and then we immediately thought to ourselves: “Everyone!’

So, we are aiming to facilitate a free massage for Everyone, by a certified and licensed professional massage therapist, all together in one place, receiving at the same time!

‘Who is Everyone going to be?’

There will be MANY clients wanting a free massage, and this won’t be just any massage – this is a very special massage. It is a massage given by qualified, and dedicated professional massage therapists whose intent is for wellness and health in each client they touch at this event. There won’t be any walls between you and the table next to you – and no walls containing the unified energy of intention created for and absorbed by all the participants in the room.

‘Why would I want to participate?’

Well, touch is a powerful medium in which wellness and healing occur, short- and long-term benefits are so life-changing that we think as many people as want one should have the opportunity at a free massage. Doctors, Dentists, Chiropractors, Cardiologists, Oncologists, Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Coaches, Physical Therapists, and more types of healthcare professionals RECOMMEND and even prescribe massage therapy as a form of healthy rehabilitation, recovery, prevention, and pain management. And: the positive effects of massage on this large a scale are HUGE!

‘How in the world are you getting Everyone a FREE Massage!?’

It takes planning for an event such as has never been seen, performed, or received before…so, if you are curious, please keep your eye on our RSS/email feed where you’ll get updates as to who, what, where, when, why, and how of the Massage World Record will be established.

We have partnered with Susan G Komen for the Cure®, Southern Nevada Affiliate to benefit those touched by breast cancer.  The 2010 Alternative Healing for Holistic Health Exposition (Ahhh Expo) will feature Massage Therapy, Bodywork, Fitness, Nutrition, and other Complementary and alternative methods of improving health and wellness for all walks of life – a contemporary exhibition of the best products and services to promote healthy lifestyle choices for everyone.

The primary location for the Event will be in Las Vegas – we  are targeting October 10th, 2010, as the official Event date, to compliment National Breast Cancer Awareness Month® and the month the American Massage Therapy Association celebrates its National Massage Therapy Awareness Week®.
